Tips on extending the life of your BILULU garment:

• Animal yarn garments (wool, cashmere, vicuna, silk) benefit from frequent washing, even if only in lukewarm water. If you do use detergents, choose natural, environmentally-friendly products that are free of substances that might affect the garment’s colour.

• By all means use your washing machine if it has a wool programme that you know works, or opt for hand washing. However, for the first wash, we strongly recommended washing garments dyed with natural colours by hand. 

• Air dry with the garment laid out horizontally on a towel, away from direct sunlight.

• Minimize iron use to avoid crushing the fibres: just a few jets of steam followed by light pressure from the iron will suffice.

• When and if necessary, repair the garment or give it to someone who knows how to.

• If you’d like a change, feel free to renew the garment with a new dye, embroidery or minor structural changes.
