COLOR CHART KIT /from plant to yarn

€28.00

This is our kit, based on our dyeing method, to start sampling the flora around you. It caters to beginners but can be a useful and practical tool also for experienced dyers willing to learn a new way of sampling.

Natural colors are alive and can change a lot during the season, even if they come from the same plant, small differences in the environment can make a huge difference in the final result. There is no printed recipe that will achieve exactly the color shown in the picture of the dyeing book you’re reading!

That’s why you must develop your own palette from your own direct experience and observation of the seasonal flora and discarded materials you have on hand. Before designing a new knitted project you need to have a color chart to select the color you like, a starting point where you have taken note of al the information and processes, and kept a sample of the many colors on different fibers.

This kit is that starting point. It will help you providing a complete set of pre-weighted products to wash, mordant and dye three skeins (indigenous italian wool, cruelty free silk and organic cotton), two ph modifiers to tone your dyed yarn, a tool to simplify the skein making and some cards to start archiving your samples.
